‘Castle’ : He’s smart and she’s dangerous

What if murders are taken from mystery novels? I guess it is kind of intriguing, isn’t it? ‘Castle’ is an American crime-comedy and drama series which was produced jointly by Beacon Pictures and ABC Studios. The first episode of the show aired on 9th March 2009. Created by Andrew W. Marlowe, the show depicts the lives of Richard Castle and Kate Beckett.

Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) is the best selling mystery novelist of New York City and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) is a NYPD homicide detective. Both of them are busy in their lives, but one day everything changes. When a psychopath murders someone in the same way as is mentioned in Richard Castle’s novels, Kate Beckett is called for an investigation of the murder.

The show takes a turn when it is decided that Richard can work with detective Beckett. Kate goes to extreme lengths to not involve Richard in her cases, but soon they both develop feelings for each other and Kate realizes that both of them are excellent together. The two solve cases daily in New York City, along with Kate tracking her mother’s murderer.

‘Castle’ has been a great TV series, which continued for eight seasons. The last episode aired on 16th May 2016. The show has entertained people as it is completely focused on the mystery and murder, including a witty side to the cases. The chemistry of Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic is commendable; both the actors have played their roles to full potential and performed terrifically. The uniqueness of the show lies in the new murders that take place and each new episode brings something different with it.

The show has been one of the most popular TV series, loved by everyone. It has won several awards including the Emmy Award for the best music composition for a TV series, Stana Katic’s performance won the award for the Best Actress in a drama series and various other awards.
