Padman
A movie with a social message and inspired from real life story of Arunachalam Muruganatham, social activist who introduced low cost sanitary pads in India.
Padmaavat
A little bit stretched out but still the production design and direction was top notch. As you would expect from a Sanjay Leela Bhansali big budget flick. Ranveer deserves a salute for his character.
Mukkabaaz
The movie follows one boxer’s struggle towards achieving his dream against the corrupt system. It has excellent performances and is full of good dialogues.
Raazi
The film is gripping from the very start and Alia Bhatt delivers her best performance so far supported equally by ensemble cast. It is dedicated to those unsung heroes who leave their love, family and emotions for the country.
Manmarziyan
The surprise Anurag Kashyap’s take on modern romance and love stories. Memorable performances along with the this year’s best music album make this film a great watch.
Laila Majnu
Taking the classic folklore to another viewpoint, the story is set in modern time in Kashmir where Laila Majnu have problems similar to today’s youth. The film is blessed with memorable performances from both leads and deserves a praise for that.
Bhavesh Joshi Superhero
A vigilante on a mission to avenge his friend’s death who was killed while exposing curupt politicians. The film more deserved popularity but failed to do so. Still in other aspects this is one of the best films this year.
Badhaai Ho
A kind of unique concept. The film is funny at regular intervals and follows a linear storyline.
Sanju
Ranbir Kapoor took his acting skills too seriously to make this a great film to watch. A biopic on the controversial life of the actor Sanjay Dutt.
