Who doesn’t love going to the movies? This list is for those who like the ‘Big Screen’ experience, and are wondering what movies they can watch. Whether it’s Hollywood or Bollywood everybody gets pissed when the movie sucks, and you have wasted your money. This list has been made keeping in mind the movies releasing this month (October) and what movies would guarantee you, the tickets worth, or more than it. (Hopefully).
Kingsman- The Golden Circle
Did not exactly release this September but the reviews and the ratings are shouting that this movie is going to be around for a few weeks. The Golden Circle is the second installment in the Kingsman movie, and the story begins where the first one left us. The trailer leaves everyone speechless, full of action and class. With gadgets even James Bond would envy, Kingsman right now has a rating of 7.3 on IMDB, which is quite good for an action movie.
American made
The movie stars one of the most iconic actors on the planet, a man who is the eye candy of every female on the planet – Tom Cruise. He is back with a new movie, as ‘The Sky is never the limit’ for him. American made is a Crime – Thriller where he plays the role of a Drug Trafficker. He works for the CIA, the DEA, and Pablo Escobar. This surely does not leave things uncomplicated for his character. The movie releases in India on 29th of September and is a recommended watch for all the thrill loving movie fans out there. This movie has an 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. (Surely that got your attention).
Blade Runner 2049
The Blade runner 2049 falls into the Fantasy – Science Fiction, Thriller genre and is set 30 years after the events of the first film. Rayan Gosling plays the role of ‘K’ whose discovery of a long-buried secret leads him to track down former blade runner Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), who’s been missing for thirty years. This buried secret has the potential to plunge what’s left of the society in chaos. Blade Runner 2049 is, as of now, the best movie of 2017 in terms of appreciation by the audience and the critics. It has an IMDB rating of 8.7 and a score of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes. This makes it kind of stupid to suggest that this should be a must watch this month.
The foreigner: Releasing – 13th October
If you don’t already know let me tell you this – It’s a Jackie Chan movie. Period. Need I say anymore? Doesn’t the name itself make you want to go and book the first show of the movie right now? If not let me tell you a few things about this one. Jackie Chan regards this movie as completely different from his other action movies. Jackie’s part in this one is more of a good actor and less of a good stunt performer or a fighter even.
His teenage daughter — dies in a senseless act of politically motivated terrorism. His relentless search to find the terrorists leads to a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official whose own past may hold the clues to the identities of the elusive killers. The movie has yet to be released in India but it has been already released in a few places and has successfully acquired a rating of 7.5 on IMDB.
Oh, don’t worry Jackie still has plenty of action for you.
Secret superstar: Releasing – 19th October
The only mainstream Bollywood movie releasing this month that could make it to this list is an Amir Khan Production movie – Secret Superstar. The Film revolves around the life of a teenage child who desperately wants to become a singer. That doesn’t sound easy as it is, her father is hell-bent on not letting this happen. This is a movie about what a child in India has to face if they want to follow their dream. This is the only movie in the list that has a social message to convey, and would probably leave the audience as speechless as ‘Tare Zameen Par’ did.
Geostorm: Releasing – 27 October
You can’t control nature. This has yet to become clear to people, not only in the movies but in real life too. That’s precisely what’s happening in the movie. Certain natural disasters have occurred and that has made the world leaders decide that they should control the weather and hence natural disasters for the good of mankind. But the exact opposite happens. Something has gone wrong: the system built to protect Earth is attacking it, and it becomes a race against the clock to uncover the real threat before a worldwide geostorm wipes out everything and everyone along with it. This movie stars Gerard Butler and Abbie Cornish in lead and is one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
Newton
This is just such a Good movie that I had to put it on the list even when it’s not in the main one technically. This movie is a Drama starring Rajkumar Rao who after this movie has made it to the list of few brilliant actors in Bollywood. The IMDB movie plot this movie has is – ‘A government clerk on election duty in the conflict-ridden jungle of Central India tries his best to conduct free and fair voting despite the apathy of security forces and the looming fear of guerrilla attacks by communist rebels.’ This is pretty much what is the story of the movie is, there is no suspense, only the harsh reality of India and the fight against corruption which is supposed to be going on.
