Nostalgic Trip down the Disney Lane

Here is a list of 6 shows from Disney Channel which aired from 2000 to 2010 and played a major role in every 90’s kid’s life who were probably blooming in their teens back then.

That’s So Raven

If you watched this show frequently, you must be able to recall the background score for the series. Yup, now goodluck trying to get that out of your head as it plays on repeat while you read the rest of the article. Raven used to have psychic visions foretelling the future. But instead of trying to do something to save the future trouble, she would generally result into causing more. Raven was hilarious and so was her family which is why, this show was showered a lot of praise and love. No wonder, it turned out to be Disney’s first show to make the 100- episode mark.
The show has received a spin off – Raven’s Home and was aired in 2017. The series revolves around Raven Baxter, who is now a divorced mother of two twins. These kids have visions too, much like their mother. More trouble? More fun! If you loved “That’s So Raven”, then you should definitely check out “Raven’s Home”.

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody

Our favourite twins; Zack and Cody were real time entertainers. Residing in the Tipton Hotel, Boston the twins and their pranks would leave us in fits of laughter. Mr. Mosby, the manager had a real tough time with the boys but he was such a favourite despite his stern and uptight demeanour. Ashley Tisdale playing Maggie was an intelligent, pretty and out spoken character from a middle class family. Her witty remarks and comebacks were so sassy you couldn’t help but like her. Then there was London Tipton, the dim-witted, rich, only-daughter of the Hotel owner, who was goals of a “Rich Life”. I cannot forget that pink fur coated landline she had. I so badly wanted one of those back then. I think, I may probably still do.

Hannah Montana

Okay, let’s accept it. Half of us were inspired to become singers after this. Atleast this is how I ended up in my school choir. Alongwith the fact that I had decent enough vocals. But all those Hannah Montana merchandise we tried to get our hands on. Specifically Hannah Montana pencil boxes, which were easiest to get.
Every character from the show was amazing. May it be Lily and Oliver, the most supportive best friends or Robby, the coolest dad. Jackson was such a dorky but lovable brother and we cannot forget Ricco. So sassy my God, even when you hated him, you loved him. This show had a massive fan following. It was after all fun to watch Miley juggle her life between the “Best of both Worlds” – Hannah and Miley.

Wizards of Waverly Place

Hands down to the most savage character from the Disney series : Alex Russo played by Selena Gomez. She was an inspiration for every teenage girl, then may it be the way she dressed or the impressionable personality she had. Apart from Alex’s character the storyline itself was so engaging. Three wizard siblings and a father trying to tutor them on judicial use of magic alongwith the kids competing to win sole custody of the family powers -This show was an ultimate entertainer. No wonder it was next in life after “That’s so Raven” to cross the 100-crore episode mark with releasing 106 episodes.
For all those who loved Wizards of Waverly Place : A spinoff of the show was released in 2013. The Wizards Return : Alex vs. Alex was released as an one- hour television special. You can go check it out if you haven’t seen it already.

Lizzie Mcguire

This show aired sometime in 2001 and didn’t we all relate to the clumsy Lizzy who tried to figure out her life through High School? Lizzie and her animated alter-ego were such a treat to watch. Alongwith her best friends Miranda and Gordo, she tried to find a place in the popular clique. The show was hilarious and looking back I realize Hillary Duff looked so childlike back then. Also Gosh those “trendy” attires. Oh, how time flies!

Sonny With A Chance

The show which introduced us to Demi Lovato. Sonny with a chance had a different story altogether. Sonny Munroe was lucky to land a role in a comedy show by the name “So Random”. The newly shot to fame teenager and her life as she adapts to Hollywood was pretty amusing to watch. Though the show only lasted 2 seasons and the third season was released as a spinoff by the name “So Random”, yet it made Demi another favourite next to Selena and Miley.

Apart from these, we obviously had ‘Suite Life on Deck’ which was a follow up to Suit Life of Zack and Cody. Phineas and Ferb and Kim Impossible were two animated cartoon shows which we watched even in our teens. Then there were movies like Camp Rock, Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, High School Musical, Hannah Montana : The Movie, Jonas Brothers : The 3D Concert Experience and the list goes on. I believe a lot of memories were tapped on as you scrolled through this article. Of course now, go ahead and look for your favorite Disney sitcoms and relive the good old days. Take a trip down the old Disney Lane.
