As we all are aware of Boney Kapoor who has won numerous awards for his previous films like “Mr. India” and “Pukar” is all set with his next big release “Tevar”. Hitting the big screens on the 9th of January, 2015 the movie is a remake of the 2003 superhit movie Okkaru starring superstar Mahesh Babu and Bhoomika Chawla as main leads. Okkadu directed by Gunasekhar was a massive hit in the south. There has been many official remakes of the original movie Okkaru in various languages like “Ghilli” in Tamil (2004), “Ajay” in Kannada (2006) and “Jor” in Bengali (2008).
The action comedy movie Tevar directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma has garnered positive views in the society. The film stars Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha as the protagonists and Manoj Bajpayee as the antagonist.
Arjun is portraying the character of Pintoo, a young Kabaddi player who unknowingly saves Radhika (portrayed by Sonakshi) from the vicious traps of Vijendar Singh (portrayed by Manoj Bajpayee). Vijendar is the local Don and wants to marry Radhika against her will and Pintoo flies in like a “Superman” in Radhika’s life when she was being dragged forcefully by Vijendar, as seen in the trailer.
The film has been shot in parts of Jaipur, Mumbai, Maheshwar, Agra and Pandharpur. The first look of the movie was unfolded almost a year before its release. The euphonic music of the movie has been composed by one of the finest and hardworkig duo in the industry – Sajid-Wajid and the background score had been provided by Clinton Cerejo. The tracks from movie especially “Superman” has become a hit already, before the film’s release. International singer Imran Khan is going to make his grand debut in the bollywood music industry with the song “Lets Celebrate” from the movie. The cinematographer of the movie is Laxman Utekar.
Boney Kapoor the producer of the movie had pre planned an untitled project with his only son. Arjun was the heart throbber of 2014 with his blockbuster movies, first being Gundey which portrayed the dark side of him was a super hit at the box office, second being 2 States which was based on one of the bestselling books of Chetan Bhagat of the same name entered the 200 cr club and the third being Finding Fanny which released in 3 languages (English, Hindi and Konkani) received critical acclaim from critics as well as the viewers.
Let us see if Arjun can charm the crowd with his devilish avatar and steal the heart of the ladies all over again.Sonakshi Sinha who was last seen romancing the Lengend Rajnikanth in the enormous budgeted (100 cr) Tamil blockbuster Lingaa will yet again characterise another “everyday” role in Tevar.After playing many atrocious roles in movies like Gangs of Wasseypur and Satyagraha, Manoj Bajpayee has a recurrently taken up the challenge to play another one, but with a comical touch.Veteran actor Kader Khan who is one of the finest comedians will play the role of a cop in the movie. Himanshu Singh will also be seen portraying a small role. Gorgeous Shruti Hasan will be seen shaking her legs with the cast in the item number Madamiyan.
