Arbaaz Khan’s home production Arbaaz Khan Productions is producing a “brand” new movie titled Dolly Ki Doli which is hitting the theatres in 23rd January, next year has created a buzz amongst the mass. The romantic drama comedy is directed and written by newbie Abhishek Dogra . Dogra was the first assistant director of the movie Paa and associate director of Paathshaala. The movie features Sonam Kapoor as the protagonist Dolly, Pulkit Samrat as Inspector Robin Singh, Rajkumar Rao as Sonu and Varun Sharma as Manoj Singh.
The official trailer of the film was released on YouTube on 12th December where it was seen that Kapoor plays the character of a charming robber bride who deceives her grooms before the Suhaag Raat and escapes the scene with the stolen wealth. Pulkit who plays a bossy cop reminds us of Robinhood Pandey from the Dabangg series. Critically acclaimed actors – Rajkumar Rao and Varun Sharma portrays the role of the helpless husbands cheated by Dolly. Rao plays the emotional one where as Sharma on the other side plays a Mama’s boy. Rajpal Yadav and Dolly Bindra are playing supporting roles in the film. The trailer crossed more than a million views in 24 hours.
About Dolly’s Swag
The exclusive first look of Dolly Ki Doli was revealed on 28th November on the official facebook page. It had exuberant Sonam Kapoor wearing Dabangg aviators to shield her from jealous stares, spectacular lehenga like in Madhuri movies, leather jacket for attitude to shine through and sneakers to make a quick escape. The unique combination of the attire grabbed the viewer’s attention in a flash.
Sonam plays an interesting character of a free spirited girl who everyone wants to marry. The movie has a take on Dolly’s swag which reads “SWAG is not something you wear, it is something you are born with”. The reel life dashing avatar of Sonam is quite similar to her real life where all men are after her. With an IMDB rating of 6.5 Sonam’s previous movie Khoobsurat alongside newbie Fawad Afzal Khan was a hit at the box office at it had a total collection of 40 cr.
