The 1990’s were, in my opinion, the golden times of television. This era brought out some of the best television sitcoms which have a massive fan following till date. The 90’s shows changed the entire scene of television at that time and introduced the public to some of the greatest drama and romedys (Romantic Comedies) of the decade! Let us go back in time and relive some of these shows as we tell you about the best 90’s T.V. series of all time!
Twin Peaks
This show came out in 1990 but was cancelled soon after the release of the second season. It was the first of its kind with a lot of mystery and suspense. The show was a crime drama with ample amounts of surrealism. It followed the investigation of the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer which was headed by FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper. The show was set in the fictional town of Twin Peaks in Washington. Unfortunately, after the suspense being given out in the second season, the show lost many fans and eventually got cancelled.
Law and Order
The show released in the year 1990 and went on to become one of the most loved investigative and police drama series. It always had episodes based on real life events and happenings around the world. It remains one of the longest running police drama series to date. The show got cancelled after it’s 20th season in the year 2010 but not before gaining a huge mass of fans .
X-Files
This 1993 tv show is about two FBI agents, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully who investigate the strange occurences and paranormal activities. While Fox believed in the paranormal, Dana was shown as a sceptic. The show first aired on September 10, 1993 and went on to become one of the most loved show of the horror, science-fiction genre.
Frasier
Frasier premiered in September 1993 and was created as a sequel of Cheers where it continued the story of psychiatrist Frasier Crane as he returned to his hometown of Seattle and started building a new life.
Friends
This show could be called the most loved show of the decade? No, Century? Yes! It follows the day to day life of six friends who live in New York city and love to catch up at the Central Perk Café. The show helped us connect to all the characters and fall in love with their personalities while laughing at all the hilarious situations and problems that came their way.

Everybody Loves Raymond
This comedy drama show revolved around the life of Raymond who was a successful sportswriter. Add obnoxious parents, an older bother, his wife and three children and you get loads of hilarious situations, jokes and possibly one of the funniest and beloved television series of the 90’s.
Full House
The show that made Uncle Jesse one of the most famous characters and had girls swooning over him. This show was about a widowed man who is raising three daughters with the help of his musician brother-in-law Jesse, and best friend, Joey. The show also made the Olsen twins famous and marked a beginning to their career.
Seinfeld
A show about the life of a stand up comedian who lives in New York. The show is about his as life as a comedian and his group of friends and turned out to be one of the best comedies. The show first aired in 1989 and was created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld.
Prince of Bel-Air
The show behind the success of Will Smith. The show revolves around Will’s life when he is made to go and live with his rich uncle and aunt along with their two children. Will has a lot of fun and humour at the expense of his cousins. The show was a massive hit when it released in the 90’s.
The Simpsons
The show is about Homer Simpson and his family as they go about their life in the imaginary city of Springfield. The dysfunctional family goes through many troubles. This animated show is still loved by one and all and is currently in it’s 27th season.
